The Village of Hoffman Estates will again be collecting household items for recycling on Saturday, Oct. 24, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Bring your old electronics, latex paint, compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) and fluorescent light bulbs, DVDs, CDs, VHS video tapes, and prescription drugs and sharps to the Susan H. Kenley-Rupnow Public Works Center located at 2305 Pembroke Ave. This program is available to Hoffman Estates residents only, and proof of residency is required.
The Village's last recycling event in August drew over 252 Hoffman Estates residents. At the event, we collected over 1,500 cans of latex paint, two cases of light bulbs, a garbage can full of prescription drugs and sharps, and a mountain of electronic goods. All of these items were recycled through Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) in a responsible way.
A special thank you to the members of the Green Commission, the Environmental Commission and all of the Village employees who worked so hard to make the event a success.
