Controlled Burn E-mail Notification
A controlled burn, also known as prescribed burning or swailing, is a technique used in forest management, farming, prairie restoration or greenhouse gas abatement. Controlled burning is conducted during the cooler months to reduce fuel buildup and decrease the likelihood of serious fires. Occasionally, controlled burns take place at parks, open spaces and forest preserves in the Village of Hoffman Estates.
If you would like to receive an e-mail notification when a controlled burn happens in Hoffman Estates, please e-mail Carrie Hart at carrie.hart@hoffmanestates.org. The notification will include the date, time, duration and location of the burn.
