SPECIAL PLANNING AREAS
Poplar Creek at 59/90 Entertainment District – Within the Prairie Stone Business Park at the northwest corner of I-90 and IL Route 59, a new Entertainment District is taking shape. A mix of retail, restaurant and entertainment venues are planned. The Sears Centre Arena and Cabela’s outdoor store currently serve as anchors in 59/90. Restaurants, other entertainment venues and retail stores will complete the district, offering residents and visitors a fun and exciting array of entertainment opportunities. The Village is working with various property owners to develop a signage plan to guide visitors and identify the district. Roselle Road Business Improvement (BID) and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Districts – This retail area generally located at Roselle Road between Golf and Higgins Roads is planned for numerous streetscape improvements to complement the recent façade changes at Golf Center and Hoffman Plaza (anchored by Jewel Foods). Landscaping, artwork, signage, and a traffic signal at the Roselle Road entrance of Golf Center and Hoffman Plaza are some of the improvements being considered. The ultimate goal is to improve the streetscape and provide for a unique and fun shopping destination area. For more information on this area click here.
