The Transportation and Engineering Division covers a large array of tasks in the planning, design, review, construction, inspection and operation of public and private infrastructure in the Village.
One of the main responsibilities is retail, office and residential site plan review and private and public construction inspection. In addition, project design, inspection services and all project management are provided for Village projects such as the annual street project, sidewalk improvements, drainage improvements, crack sealing and other utility projects.
We also monitor the condition of facilities for vehicles and pedestrians, coordination with other agencies to increase choices for public transit, and cooperation with state, county, and local jurisdictions on projects of mutual interest. Division members serve as part of an interdisciplinary team to plan, design, and operate public and private transportation facilities in a safe and efficient manner.
The Transportation & Engineering Division also provides services to residents such as drainage inspections, grading concerns, flood plain inquiries, signage and striping studies, and public transit inquiries.
